Audio text

The Legacy Plaza is the heart of this virtual museum.

It takes as its reference the Gabino de Balboa Plaza of the Cuadrillas, bringing together Galanes, Moros, Cachaceros and Guahibos in an intercultural fusion that tells several stories. Our Patron Saint, the Catholic Saint Martin of Tours, is its center, a symbol and reminder of the religious tradition and the ceremonial spirit of the festivities.

In the Cuadrillas, the plaza is not an empty stage. It is the place where paths cross, horses draw figures and the community meets its memory again.

Here the movement begins.

Here the tradition takes shape.

Piece in the room

Each piece has a short descriptive audio. The extended file and 3D model will be published once the curatorial team delivers them.

The cajuche

Complementary audio

This is the cajuche, also known as cafuche.

The cajuche is an animal that is part of the memory of San Martín de los Llanos. For a long time, it was common for cafuches to come down from the hills and cross the town and its streets, leaving a mark on daily life and on the memory of its people. Over time, the name also came to identify the people of San Martín. That is why saying “cajuche hasta la cepa” (a cajuche to the core) is to speak of someone proud of their land, their roots and their traditions.

The cajuche reminds us that the identity of a people also lives in the stories that continue to be told.
